S&P Global 公佈5月美國綜合採購經理人指數(Composite PMI)躍升至54.4，較4月的51.3大幅爬升，創自2022年4月以來峰值，並飛越預估之51.1。  

服務業表現出一年間最大擴張，成為關鍵作用力，其錄得PMI為 54.8。 製造業也不遑多讓，繳出PMI為 50.9。 雖然失業潮還在，但企業對展望樂觀以及訂單增加，裁員力道減緩。 過去幾個月中，投入成本和產出價格同步加大，其中製造業終端價格調漲。 然而，零售價格仍低於年平均。 對未來產值的預期也較 4 月錄得的五個月最低點有所回溫。

週四，華爾街刮起逆風，因PMI調查出乎意料地高，引發市場高利環境擔憂。 道瓊指數重挫 605.78 點（-1.53​​%），是今年最差表現。 賣盤亦打擊標普500指數和納斯達克指數，兩者從歷史高點回落，分別下跌 0.74% 和 0.39%。  

S&P Global的報告顯示美國商業活動加速，加上滯脹情勢，聯準會可能維持鷹派，導致國債殖利率上升，打壓風險資產價格。  

多數大型股見修正，但輝達Nvidia (NVDA.US) 硬挺 9.32%，首次突破千元，得益於人工智慧晶片強勁需求給出正面指引。 不過，波音公司(BA.US)就沒有那麼樂觀，其財務長預測自由現金流轉負，且由於持續的產線問題，第二季飛機交付量可能落空，股價暴跌7.55%。
