2024年首季美國GDP報1.6%，是2022年上半年見收縮後再擴張的最緩增速。 消費者支出從 3.3% 降至 2.5%，主要是由於商品消費減 0.4%，而服務消費則較上一季的 3.4% 增長更快，達到 4%。 儘管設備投資從-1.1%反彈至2.1%，智慧產權投資從4.3% 增至5.4%，但受基建投資下降0.1%的抵消，非住房投資從3.7%回落至2.9%。 

進一步探究，政府支出成長率較上一季的 4.6% 放緩至 1.2%。 出口從5.1%大幅下滑至0.9%，而進口則從2.2% 飆至7.2%。 此外，存貨投資減 0.35 個百分點，而上一季則是減 0.47 個百分點。 相反地，住宅投資以兩位數增長，達到 13.9%，高於上一季紀錄 2.8%。
