在市场等待周二欧元区通胀数据公布之际，欧元兑美元于1.07 价位整固。 欧洲央行(ECB)的政策方向将受物价水准左右。 德国做为欧洲最大经济体，4月全国消费者物价指数（CPI）维持在2.2% 不变，略低于预期的2.3%。 然而，欧盟调合通胀统计自3月的三年低点2.3% 微升至2.4%。 受食品和天然气价格拉抬，西班牙通胀率也升至3.3%。 另外，德国和西班牙的核心通胀观察到放缓至多年来的新低，主因是服务业价格不再高涨。  

在物价压力减弱和经济活动疲软的迹象下，欧洲央行暗示在6月开始减息的可能。 相反地，美国美联储不太可能在9月之前实施任何宽松手段。

周一，市场静待通胀报告，同时消化公司季度成绩，斯托克50指数回吐早盘涨幅，终场下跌0.5%，收在4,983点。 指标股重挫动摇投资人信心，奢侈品龙头 LVMH 和 Hermes 均失2%，拖累欧洲主要股指，而快时尚集团Inditex 也下滑1.7%。 在科技板块，ASML和SAP的跌幅都超过1%。 金融股消息方面，尽管 BBVA 宣布净利润升19%，但其股价仍跌0.8%。 再者，德意志银行股价暴跌8%，因有消息指称其法律缠讼可能会导至高达13亿欧元的损失。
